abouT Me

MALO LAVA - KIA ORA,

I am Lulu Autagavaia & I love to DANCE!

I am of mixed Polynesian Indigenous Decent,

Born & Raised in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Moved from Perth to Hāwera in 2018 with my soul mate & son to reconnect with Whānau, Whenua, Whakapapa & Healing to pursue our deepest passions to create a Legacy.

Being a Mother myself that comes from a very large family my experience to engage and empower young people came from a very young age being placed in Teaching, Coaching leadership roles.

I lead with self love pillar principles of Tikanga based Child development, Holistic learning, Child belonging & Wellbeing.

I love empowering our young people to openly and creatively express through HIP HOP DANCE in whatever shape or form that may be for them "Whaea Lulu focuses on The Fundamentals".

DANCE

I have been heavily influenced as a self taught battle freelance hip hop dancer & Hip Hop culture enthusiast growing up being involved in and out of school all things within the performing, expressive, cultural & creatives arts - Kapahaka, Samoan Group & Hip Hop Groups.
I started to freelance Street battle between Hip Hop dance crews particularly within the KRUMP battle movement performing and battling at social community events. Dance saved my life #blessed.

Honoured to play a foundational part of a very special crew called FREEFAM: Freedom Arts Academy,
Freedom Arts Academy Owned & Directed by Krissy & Luke Pierre-Collins.
This
Academy has Inspired myself to always pursue higher with our young people in Dance no matter where I go,

Keeping the Art of Hip Hop Dance & Culture alive.

Te Hāwera has given me the space for personal development, Internal healing, Wellbeing with confidence to enter the entrepreneurial journey to share my passions and abilities to create impact within the community to teach Hip Hop Dance, Lead, Empower & Advocate for our child & youth Mental health & Suicide prevention this is a continuous commitment that I'm excited to build alongside the Love & Support it entails.

I look forward to connecting with all our young people and meeting all their beautiful whānau on this endeavour together.
